I'm Reading Sunday May 7 in Brooklyn

Next Sunday evening I'll read at Cheryl B's series in my old neighborhood. I'm stoked, it's usually a fun, lively crowd. Plus, I don't have to go into Manhattan.

Reading with me will be poets Joel Allegretti and Cynthia Bruckman, and fiction writer Brett Berk. Looks like an interesting lineup.

It went all right. It was at a bar, and there were some late-stage alcoholic types talking loudly throughout, so that rattled all of us readers a little. But the other readers were awesome and I did my best. I may have picked the wrong material for this crowd as well (I read the opening of "Welcome to the Pleasuredome," a 1st-person-plural story about a clique of high school drama geeks). But went out for a drink afterwards and had a great evening overall.

Thanks for asking!
